Just wanted to chuck up my latest poster design for a screening of The Canadian Red Cross’ Documentary WAR HOSPITAL, which will be screening Wednesday, November 25th, 7:00pm at the Potter Auditorium (Dalhousie). Admission is free, and there will also be snacks and a panel discussion after the film. Groovy!

Righteous.

October 28, 2009 · 1 Comment

Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of working on Cory Bowles RIGHTEOUS. This was his directorial follow-up to one of my favourite short flicks of 2008, THE SCAVENGERS (click here to see the trailer for that film). Both of Bowles’ films are from his production company Transfiction Films.

I was on set for two days in Truro, and they shot another day in Halifax.

I’m really excited for everyone to see this! Everyone on the set was operating on every cylinder possible, I think we may have created something really special.

The film stars Richard Talbot in his first acting role, Kate Macdonald, and myself. The crew was made up of some ridiculously talented people. Jeff Wheaton (assisted by Scott Thorne) conjured up some pretty effing whimsical shots as the Director of Photography. Mr. Zan “Aikido” Rosborough & Adam Burke provided excellent audio recording skills. Meanwhile, John Davies provided rugged good looks and pitched everyone on movies all weekend.

Lots of other people worked on the film, and they were all awesome!

Hopefully, some stills will be available sometime in the near future, so you can have a proper preview of Righteous. Until then, here are three behind-the-scenes shots from the shoot. Don’t you feel special?

Mr. Bowles himself wondering why I’m standing so close to him…

I wanted to take a tough photo of Richard Talbot, however, DOP Jeff Wheaton decided it needed a little more clown…

That’s all for now. When there’s more available, you’ll see it either on here, or over at Transfiction Films’ blog.

Oh, and PS, unrelated note: Ghostbusters is playing this Friday at 11:30pm at Empire Park Lane. What better way to ring in Halloween?

Farewell Geocities

October 19, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I love Geocities, it’s the Apple computer of the website creation world; in layman’s terms, you can be really stupid, and have no knowledge of HTML or CSS and still create visually stimulating websites… for FREE!

GlenJM.com is hosted by Geocities, and after many many years of free service, Yahoo has decided to shut Geocities down next Monday, October 26th, so until then, I welcome you to check out my official website, (which I created about 3 years ago) until it’s taken down.

Rest in peace in your interweb crypt, baby.

The blog will remain right here though at http://glenjm.wordpress.com . Fear not.

Clip from “Phone Whores”

October 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Here is yet another gem from the GlenJM Vault!

From the year 2007, here is a clip from “PHONE WHORES” brought to you by Foam Horse Productions. Directed by (the late and very great) Daniel Gaynor, written by Gary Caven & Darrell Sampson.

The short film (28 minutes in length) was my very first experience with being in an Atlantic Film Festical rejected film, and I am tickled pink to finally share with you a clip from the film showcasing my talents as a creepy creepy man…

Trivia: Which bridge-troll from Dartmouth gave me the black eye seen in the clip?
Answer: John Davies

Bye Bye Moby

October 7, 2009 · Leave a Comment

UPDATE (Oct. 15/09): I was informed that it was probably in my best interest to take down the set photos from the Moby Dick shoot. However, if you’re still hoping to check them out, go to Shelburne County Now’s Website.

Yesterday was my final day working on Mike Barker’s MOBY DICK. I had a grand total of three days (one in Lunenburg, two in Shelburne) on the set, and I can easily say that this was one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever worked on. The caliber of the cast is humbling. And when I say humbling, I mean you’re too scared to say anything that makes you look like an idiot, and then all of the awesome actors will just remember you as “that idiot”. Jeesh.

I managed to snag a small bit of memorabillia for this adventure, the sign from my very first trailer…
Photo 4

…my character’s name was actually Tom, but my computer mirrored the image, and rather than flipping it back, I thought it was amusing to envision my character’s name as Mot, and then starting a family business with Tomatoe juice.

…Moving on.

Photographer Timothy Gillespie was on set for the day, and took a few shots.

There’s plenty more available for paroosing over at Shelburne County Today’s website. Either at http://www.shelburnecountytoday.com/mobydick/ or over at http://www.shelburnecountytoday.com/mobydick/photos_extras.htm .

I should have a few more up on here within a few days. Stay tuned.

I would like to send out a big thank you to of those who helped make my experience on the set a wonderful one. I hope I am not considered “that idiot”.
